Simply. A proposal of taking a break on a "quick game". When a player suggest a break he can choose between 3 and 15 minutes. The break start as soon as the new turn start, and it need to be agreed by the mayority of the players, regardless of game's settings.

The game cannot have more than one break in 45 minutes. After the 45 minutes you can have (if accepted) another break, and so on.

For example, If you play 4 mins, your game can have one break per 12 turns of gaming.

WHY WE NEED THIS?

If you had played 4 minutes on a small map such as Europe + , you would expect the game to last no longer than one hour, but we know empirically that this does not happens, and some times the game can go up to two hours. In good terms, let's say simply that some people have life, and they cannot dedicate this time for the game.

Sometimes you simply need a break, for drink water, do some fingers exercises and clear your mind. Sometimes you can do this in the middle of the game, but there is also sometimes in which you need to dedicate all the time for it.

Sometimes you also have tough opponents ( hi laochra, bye laochra) that are for sure leading the game to late gaming.

Also, it is very well recommended by experts that, for 1 hour of gaming you should have a 15 minutes break

I've also though, 45 mins would'be the ideal but this can also be set to one break per 15 turns of gaming. So 15 minutes if the game's turn last 1 minute, and one hour if they last 4 minutes.....)

Another thing, unlike most of the settings, when someone request a break should be show in the same running turn, in the same minute it was suggested. If various players suggested a break with different amount of time, it should be show too...

Why accepted by majority? because we all know there can be someone that doesn't have obligations and therefore, can play full minutes. So this player would try to get advantage of you, if you have family, by declining all the proposal breaks.

Why only one break? For avoid abusing. I would say the break should be forced, but would be more democratic if the majority agrees.

No support. I don't think its needed. If you are playing the game it is assumed you have the time for it. What I would like to see is an option to save the game data for each turn and then you can maybe create a new game from that saved data. But maybe too complicated.

Emergencies does exist, and you never know when you are going to have one.

Is not like I join a game expecting it to last 50 turns, in fact, nobody joins a game expecting it to last 3 hours. If the max turn duration changes to 25 turns by default, nobody would really disagree to it ( in the most extreme case, maybe 5 players). Between make games with an amount of turns that I sure know I can play AND a pause button, I'd choose the second one. There are plenty of suggestions in this post for reduce the possible exploits.

And not sure how your proposal is related to the post

Isn't it almost just the same as changing the turn time to 12 minutes?

I'm not saying that I'm against what you proposed, just that there are many other priorities at the moment and that's something we can already do with the features we have now in my opinion.

This can be a really good idea, what if host has ability to set x lenght of time for a break , 0 mins or longer, at certain intervals and if you dont want to break you can end it like a normal turn but if you want to take the break you dont end it, if everyone ends then the break then the game continues. I know this idea wont help if there is someone at your door (i cannot believe you left someone standing outside your house) and unless you house decides to burn down at the perfect moment it wont help you there either.

We can play casual, but I really doubt someone would play 12 minutes game

The idea of this is when you have an "emergency".... is not like we know when they're going to happen, but if they do, this feature would be very useful. I've argued about a break time, but seems like people like more the "Pause" idea.

If it really is an emergency you should be handling it. Not busy caring your turn was skipped on AW

If you need time to relax between moves have longer turn times, or play casual like the casual you are.

"This is a game, so I don't care"

Cool, but let's say you have an emergency in the middle of the game. Which one would you choose?

A) Leave the game and handle your emergency.
B) Go AFK and handle your emergency.
C) Use up this feature, and purpose a pause for the game. After it happens, handle your emergency.

You don't know you're going to have an emergency. Following your logic, you shouldn't be ever posting here.

What if I only have a limited amount of time?
Say I want to play a quick 10 person Europe + game 4 min turns and ends about 2 hours later, but some jack-offs want to have a couple of breaks causing the game to go on longer than expected. I'm forced to leave because of some silly retarded break.
If you want to play a game that has breaks in it, play in the casual room.

This thread reeks of stupidity.
Quick game is quick for a reason, casual is for people who don't stay for long periods of time.

Agree And this would be good for cw so players can have a break to see what happen and how the game does, changing tactics.
Normal, this would be on button for on or off,so if someone doesnt want to have this in game,he can turn off.
