    Assasination !

Hostus' bold and scathing speech against Fabius, leader of the populares drew mostly applause, some gasps. Later in the day, he is beset upon by an assassin who, does not even give the dignity of iron but unsheathes a small hand Gastraphete unleashing a bolt into his eye before disappearing into the night crowds.

To all those who vote for 1)Marcus Calpurnius and Gaius Servilius (Auctoritas + Commercium), If Gaius Servilius ends as Rome Consul, I promise - this is a public agreement- that I will do everything in my power to guarantee that you all get an appropriated delegation of power and are well compensated. I also promise that all those who didn't vote for me will also receive some type of compensation for losing, but obviously you will be rewarded better if you voted for me.

As Rome Consul, I will do my my best to uphold the balance of power. In my ideal Rome - Every Faction has 14% of the voting power. This means that I feel uncomfortable that POPULARES, OPTIMATES, LIBERTATEM and CONNCINATORES have half of this. I can guarantee that under my leadership, their voting power will double.

Autocritas and Pietas both have a dangerous voting power, but I promise that I will not take action against them, for I am a person of principle who strongly believes in Diplomacy and Communication.

I Voted Libertatem and Optimates during this election as a preview to my policy of restoring the balance of power. This does not mean that Pietas and CONNCINATORES are out of power for THEY BOTH have my GUARANTEE that they will not be excluded from government while I am Consul.

I PLAN to run for reeleaction with Auctoritas again as consul if I am allowed. For is my strong belief that we should all co-operate until we destroy Carthage.

    last but not least;

Found dead on the via Appia, Scipio was enjoying a party with friends when he was ambushed by men as he returned home and left for dead in a ditch.

The capital mourns the death of the young hero, who was in the prime of his life. A funeral procession takes place in the following days where his son, Publius gives a speech that earns the loyalty of his legions

    Battle of Ephesus
    Gaius Julius
    (10 Legions +2 veterans+ 4 command)=18 strength
    Antiochus III
    (6+5 Armies) = 11 strength
    Battle Roll: 8+7=15
    Result: Victory

Relieving the siege of Pergamon, Gaius Julius presents himself to Attalus and coordinates with his forces to march southwards.
The battle itself was hard fought, with Antiochus charging straight through the rom left seeking out Gaius Julius himself but unable to come to grasps with the Consul. On the roman left, javelin armed soldiers brought down mighty elephants causing a collapse of that part of the line and allowing the more mobile principes to flank the phalanx. In the end, Antiochus ordered a retreat to save the core of his forces.
This defeat has however shattered the prestige of the Seleucid state and Antiochus has agreed to never interfere beyond the Taurus mountains again, and has sent a vast amount of talents to Rome in compensation.

    Roman Casualties
    -3 legions

    Syrian Casualties
    Total

Gaius Julius gains 3 influence and 3 popularity
-1 popularity for loss of 3 legions
Gaius Julius gains a veteran Legion, Legio IV
Rome Gains 45 Talents in War Spoils
    Romans love victory, -1 Unrest

    Illyrian Campaign
    Drusus Claudius
    (4 Legions + 2 command)=6 strength
    Queen Teuta
    (5 Armies) = 5 strength
    Battle Roll: 10+1=11
    Result: Stalemate

Epidamnos was received into Roman protection by Consul Claudius and the army now moved inland among the Illyrian peoples of the hinterland. Here, the Romans received delegations from many peoples, including the Atintani and Parthini, from whom a formal surrender was accepted. At sea, the blockade of Issa was raised and the city also received Roman protection. As the Romans approached the Illyrian heartlands near the Bay of Kotor, opposition stiffened. Here a large force loyal to Teuta harassed the romans from the heights and did hit and run attacks on their legions, who are now scattered trying to protect loyal tribes against the Queen. Losses are mounting, and reinforcements are soon needed....

    Roman Casualties
    -2 legions

    Illyrian Casualties
    Equivalent

-1 popularity for loss of 2 legions
Drusus Claudius gains a veteran Legion, Legio I
Drusus will remain as PROCONSUL of this war
