I support the idea, although in this form, is highly unlikely to happen for reasons already stated. I can understand clash of characters, people not getting along, trouble with leadership and etc. But, im pretty sure that what laochra had in mind, and i agree, is for people to stop being spread around in semi inactive clans who cant cw consistently. Having a big ego/ clan loyalty and stuff is perfectly understandable, when you play a normal highly populated game, or in case of aw, when your clan is able to pull its weight (in terms of cw). At the moment only Illyria can do that and Aristocrats, with 174 and 100 cws, respectively. The rest cant and thats a fact. What is glorious about being in a clan that cant cw. I dont get it, someone explain to me please. What do you get out of being a leader in a dead clan anyway. What do you get out of playing random 3v3's with plebs everyday and dont get to cw. i just dont get it. When illy was dead and lao wanted to cw, he went to SM and it worked out fine. And thats what all competitive players should do imo. Find a clan that they like the people in it and migrate there, instead of being spread out in useless clans. If your ego is so big that you want to stay in a dead clan because you like being the top dog, then great, accept you are a loser with psychological problems and go play another game.

Believe me i get it! I log in purely because of my friends too, but this thread has a specific target audience, competitive players and those that want to be competitive, which by definition means to compete. Players who are here for fun, friendship, forums, trolling, scenarios, rp's or casual games and etc should not be concerned with this thread

But.... so, how many people is in aw solely and exclusively 100% for cws and/or duel competition? As many as these people are, they depend on other people as well, they alone are not enough people for much

As i said the thread had a specific goal and audience. (i presume..) Dont worry the players who belong to that specific category will get the message and the message is that people who are interested in cws should stop fucking around in dead clans and start merging because the competitive scene walks at a very thin line and is very easy to die off completely. Players who dont care about cws dont belong in the thread. Also no, we dont depend on people who dont cw, what gave you that idea? We never had. For me 1 mauzer = 200 random map players.

What I meant is that people that exclusively play cws also depend on those kind of players who happen to play cws sometimes while dedicating time to other games as well, since they're some percentage of the few remaining cw-playing players and can boost the activity to a decent level. You should get to that kind of people as well, pls don't get me wrong

I can share with my opinion with you as someone you is 'scared' (for a lack of a better word) to join the CW scene. #1) Inconsistency I understand with any team based game(s) there is bound to be player changes, but without any regulation on atWar players have switched from clan to clan to clan within the same day, and that simply diminishes the value of competitive games. i.e. Teammate doesn't send cash. Well guess the only option now is to leave the clan, burn it to the ground and restart. i.e. Opi kicking player for fun. (nothing personal against the guy, great player, just sharing an example) #2) Pointless Inactivity I know people have lives and all, that is not what this point refers to. It refers to the clans which may gain first place, stop playing and only play during the next season or when they will lose first. Clearly there has to be a fix for this. #3) Boring/Skill Gap Too repetitive, I know someone's going to say "there are 10v10, 5v5, NA, Eurasia, etc games", but they don't happen often and trying to even compete in EU+ 3v3 10K against someone with 3 years of experience, is basically so boring that why bother. If there were to be variety on a consistent bases and EU+ wasn't the only map people played it would be more attractive to many players. Basically only EU+ settings favour those you have played them for years making it annoying for newer players to try to master. I know a lot of these hard to fix such as changing 3v3 EU+ 10K as the go to settings, and all 3 could be fixed with admin intervention (adding longer time intervals between players leaving a clan, to joining another). The main reason I don't CW thought is #1, prior to AW I played COD (as an average player), loved playing CW's with my clan that I had been in for 3 years (didn't know the people personally either). That is basically non existent on AW, and if it does exist, the clan is usually dead/going inactive. Overall just wanted to clarify my perspective as to why players may avoid the CW scene.

You are fucking right on this. Variety is very low on these days... I really think that if we put on practice more ways to cw (if we are talking about this) like other maps (of course balanced or this wouldn't have any sense) and other ways to play, we would get more "new players" joining the competitive scene. Besides, I believe this won't make those new players get bored of being raped by other players that have like 3-4 years of time playing the map. Some comments above I saw a very appropiated point: premium. A lot of players reject the cw scene because they don't have this advantage and prefer to not enter in this thing. For me, could be good involve non-premium players into this competitive scene making them to not believe premium is the only way to enter here. For example, in usual 3v3 cw if some non-premium player will play, his rival should kill his gen and then it would be on equal conditions (case of UK vs Germ or whatever you want). I think these issues are important for now, even if Amok and Ivan are not looking us. If someone has a point to correct me about my proposals, I would be glad of think about it.

I'd kill gen all times in 3v3, I just forget since it's normal for me now. I know how bad it is, going up to mid r8 with no gen. If people asked more often I'd be more than happy to oblige. In cw it's pretty much play to win... If they're a disadvantaged team in general I'd consider it but general benefits some countries more than others and it could throw the game. It's not simply 3 1v1s you can't separate it like that. Besides, it's rare that someone invested enough and good enough to be a cwer isn't able to buy prem. As for the map... a few goes at a new, balanced map and a skilled player will already be pretty familiar with its dynamics... It would help keep the game fresh but do little to encourage noobs.

All you said above is true guys, there are numerous reasons why the competitive scene is dying and there are many people/things to point finger at. The way I see it, as I've explained it few days earlier, the reason why we are slowly dying is because of the lack of low ranking players joining our clans. Face it, you can't even count 10 new players, that joined AW since 2013/14, and became 'well respected' in the cw community as being skilled or good. Just look at Illy, mk, sa, enigma, aristo, even ec.... all the good players or carries in cw's are back from 2013/14, with the exception of few newcomers. We cant be the same like we were 3 or 4 years ago. You dont act the same being 16 or 20 y/o. Its not only admins fault the scene is slowly dying, its ours. I remember back in those times, low ranks didnt ask to join big clans, but we were all scouting low rank 3v3 games, 1v1 and world games, looking for new players showing any skill. I remember Mauz and I testing over 20 players back in Mk, even training some of them in order to grow and become part of our team. And yes we werent the only ones doing that. When can you see that type of commitment these days? We became lazy without any faith. Going inactive isnt the solution to the problem, by doing we only prolong the problem, escaping from the end. In order to change these thing, we need to change ourselves and in that way help the competitive community as a whole.

Disagree. It shouldn't require a stupendous effort on our part to make low ranks want to be better players. The main problem is that playing competitively on this game is just not that attractive. Most of the reasons for this can be laid at the feet of the admins. Be realistic, how many of those players mk tested stuck around? Only a small list of players joined the competitive scene from 2013-2015. You could drop out of illy and create a training clan, headhunt 50 low ranks in the beginners lobby to join. You'll be doing well to get a handful of them competitively. How could you convince them that aw is worth sticking around for? Theres just so much wrong with aw right now. There's the bugs some of which have existed for years. There's lotto rolls and tbs. Tonnes of horrible custom maps and scenarios which attract players but do nothing to teach them game basics or about the strategies. You;ve inactive admins and no game developement. You've tournaments which have become meaningless due to their sheer volume and poor hosting. Don't even get me started on duels and the joke elo has become. Did i mention the bugs? Personally i have no interest in donating many more hours of my time to convince low ranks the game is worth sticking around for longterm. Without active admins we are at nothing.

19.04.2017 - 01:09 Freeman Käyttäjä poistettu Guys, I personally don't agree with you because I think every cw in Eu+ is different than the other. The variety of picks and strategies do it this way. It's not hard to reach a decent amount of skill. Look, in the last mmorpg I played the best was to have crazy stats on bracelets, swords armors etc. You could do that by adding them and changing them. Those special items cost real money. It was rumored some players invested thousands of euros to get the perfect stats. AW has what mmorpgs don't, namely equality of chances. Half a year of training and you can compete and perform decent. No stats on armors. "Stats" in your mind, possibilities and varieties of moves. You can kneel the most powerful players, something not possible in that mmorpg, unless you invested the same amound of money. AW and the default map make such a beautiful game..
