Clan War Rant.

Hey everyone.
I intend to go inactive again come the end of the season. This will effectively mean the end of illy once again as myself khal or acqui leaving usually signals the death of the clan.
Lets not kid ourselves guys. The competitive community is dying a slow death. The current cw activity levels are only an illusion as the same problems still exist from a year ago and hardly any new clans/players are joining the competitive scene. It is purely being kept alive by oldfags. The duel scene is totally fucked with the top 10 being dominated by farmers nobody has heard of. This is only going to get worse without any intervention by amok/ivan with game developements.
So what i am trying to say is get your shit together and cw while you have the chance because this wont last. I've been on a lot the past few days and have only wanted to cw but cant because all the active players are scattered throughout semi inactive clans for some reason. They play stupid standard 3v3s all day and struggle to get 3 online at the same time so we get no cws. I am pointing at you hybrid warfare, you stalins, you enigma. Mk, shadow aces, epic clan and immortals too. Pool your active members and lets enjoy some games while we can. Its boring af at the moment.
And yes universali you triggered me into this rant.

Yes, the competitive scene has been declining a lot recently, and it's no surprise. Everyone knew it would happen eventually. Here in ENIGMA we do try to cw, especially in the last few weeks. But most of the time when we ask nobody is on or can't play. On the other hand when we're not available there's a lot of people requesting cws. We also always encourage our low ranks to take as many cws possible and against any ranks. And even when we get a cw either the game completely shuts off or some fucker still gives a fuck about ranks in 2017 where most clans are dead, we did that too before but at least it was slightly appropriate back then. But at this rate it's just hard it to commit to this game anymore. While we still try to do our best and be more active, the skill level has dropped, there's less players in the competitive community and the game just has been exceedingly boring. Unfortunately this is the expected fate as this game has been long dead ever since the Admins abandoned it. Some new variety to the game badly needs be introduced.

even with hdrakon banned, last season was still extremely active. for example i played relentlessly, and others too but we all stopped playing and it had an effect, Laochra leaving is just the nail in the coffin.

On topic: not that I don't care but it's simply the point we've reached. Embrace it. I personally have tried to play a bit lately just to have fun, although I'm not gonna take the blame for the cwing situation, I only joined enigma to make it seem a bit more active haha maybe it's time for a new community to rise (maybe the sp police will become our future...), what's certain is that there isn't a peak in activity in any aspect of the game. Not much that we can do reached this point, not much to cry for since admins have moved on. My contribution: do we even really care that much? We're few people to be part of this competitive group and most of the time all I see is bitching around, no wonder things went down hill. Keep on playing all you guys want without expecting anything from each other just as most of you have always done (too much egocentricity and vanity) and may AW go on its journey untill it sinks or evolves

I'm talking about enigma with those great low ranks you mention who are always on but barely ever cw. Soon there will be no decent talent left for you guys to play against. Make hay while the sun shines my friend.

There is so much wrong with the competitive community that i could write an essay on this and undoubtedly ruffle some feathers. But much of it requires admin intervention. Specifically a coder. I would also lay a lot of blame on the nature of many custom maps/scenarios which attract players but teach them little about atwar. There are noobs in abundance you are right but i cant count how many players ive invested time into helping only for them to quit. And for the vast majority the interest in improving just isnt there. Also if you want to be seriously competitive, you need premium, specifically the general. You can play without but youre disadvantaged. I am sorry to share such a bleak outlook with a nice fresh-faced and enthusiastic low rank but its the reality. Don't get me wrong there's still lots of fun to be found here. These are just endgame complaints by oldtimers like myself.

I have, it's full of games with 2-5 players. Some of them possible alts, some of them casual players that might not be active again in months or that don't have any deeper interest in the game beyond wasting 30 mins of their lifes. I may be too negative but I don't see a reason to feel proud or hopeful about it, sorry.

Atwar has been decaying ever since 2013 and no one cared until now that is too late. All of the warnings provided by mid-highranks and map makers were ignored.

No offense intended with this i would play in clan wars and my clan members would probably be more than willing. but who wants to play a game with 3 minute turns and europe is not appealing to people as the game board. maybe u fuckers should branch out a little and explore casual game clan wars. as far as the comments on the moderators go.some of the room monitors do need to unbunch their panties a bit. and dude commenting on the mentor center is right. its a joke. my rank is not indicative of my ability to play. u play enough yur gonna get the sp but u wont get any better. i tried to get help from one who is a room monitor and he thought so much of me he sent me a warning while i was online.

Also we have annoying players who call themselves mentors *cough* Phoenix *cough* who cant teach the game in a way where newer players stay interested. All phoenix did while training me was yell at me for everything i did wrong, instead of teaching me why it was wrong and how to do better. this pretty much ended my chances of showing up anywhere on the competitive scene for quick games, so i moved to casual. and to redthunder's point, Casual Ties is looking for cw's every single day, we post on forums about it all the time, and we always are there to start the cw (with exception of one time i think?). our forums rarely get replies, even though we play anyone no matter the rank. For example, we were severely outranked in the 4v4 cw with ENIGMA, as it was Heat, Leo, Comedian, Darth, vs 3 r8s and one r9. we still fought, didnt squabble over ranks.. so come at us, we want to play just as much as you do.

For Amok & Ivan, Atwar is a realised investment. They see no future growth, and spend no further money or time for this game. For oldfags, Atwar is an important memory in life. We see no future growth, but we left the game and came back to play, time and again. Is elo an achievement? Is CW season an achievement? My answer is a definite no. The true remaining enjoyment of this game is to play 3v3s or CWs or scenarios with friends. We may not know each other in real life but we grow up together. Tbh, I am not concerned about the lack of new players. Amok & Ivan deserves this. But if oldfags are gone, this game is completely done.

We need to all become hybrid players ... People seem to either just cw or just play scenario etc (not gonna count rp) so theirs a rift between players and ways of playing, i remember when i started trying cw some CW players would just spam me insults and shit while i was trying to learn lol.

We should revive ancient cws to allow players that play ancient to participate in 3v3s and cws. On a side note, a new competitive map would be nice too...
why haven't they sold it then? More money for them, without any loss.

Firstly, ancient cws were a thing back when ancient players still wandered around.... good old times  so-called competitive players usually have this fear of trying other maps which is unhealthy (I said usually because it's for most cases, not all of them, but still, it's a really big percentage and a huge problem)Secondly, there already are other competitive maps such as destoria or dreamworld (at least, I find them to be competitive material). Even symetrical Eu could work Lastly, they don't sell it because they still make some money out of premuims. They want to get all the money they can untill this thing dies for good.

After being involved in our casual cw, I can say it was a nice experience and I'd do it again. If you want to change map, I'd also be up for that! And if you need mentoring, perhaps try to pm me with your doubts or ask in forums, not sure if there's any other option left. What seems to me is that the mentoring program has been a bit of a fail but that's nothing new. There was already a program before called adopt a newb from which this mentoring thing was copied, which also ended up failing.
Whenever you guys want, it was fun to try something different!
