Eurasia Tourney Coming Soon

Due to the success of the previous one, I'm going to host another eurasia tourney shortly. This time it will be a casual tourney to see how people fare without time constraints as a factor. It'll be on the 5k setting.

Due to balance issues between europe and Asia which will be very noticeable in a casual, ive cloned the eurasia map and edited asias income to match europes. On the default map players usually clash around the pakistan/afgan region which gives europe/asia roughly the same unit prod. However asia has 100 more infantry neutrals to chew through when expanding and has over 2k less income limiting viable strat choices.

I havent had much time of late to test the clone however and hope some people will before i start the tourney and provide some feedback. Ideally i hope that itll be a fairly balanced battle.

Also as a pre-emptive strike against the atwar conservatives, i dont care if you think europe is beatable with asia. I dont care if you beat (insert strong players name here) europe with imp asia this one time 2 years ago. Please dont spam this thread with useless posts. Please test the clone and let me know.

Stryko is right, if each 1v1 would take like 8 days minimum (16 turns) this would take a lot of time and inactivity/lack of commitment would be an issue. I propose just making the turn time fairly higher than before (5-7 minutes). Either way, I'm in.

Yea im unsure how long itll take people to complete games, but id expect the game would start pretty quickly after i post whos playing who. I'm considering a 2 week deadline per round at current. Most tourneys, even the well organised ones take that long to complete a round anyway. Some people will complete their games much faster than others completing many turns within a day. I'll see how that goes. But if you commit to this tourney you need to be sure you can spare 5 or so mins a day to log for the next month of so.

But longer turn times of 5-7 mins would appeal less to people than casual games. The main reason i made the last eurasia tourney 2 min turns was because its difficult for 2 players to both be able to sit down and find 3 hours to spare to play a game. At 5-7 min turns games youre looking at even longer.

Whatever the case ive my mind set on casual, ill see how many people sign up at that with a 16 player list and if it proves popular enough ill expand to a 32 player bracket. But i probably wont host this tourney until the end of this month, for now i just want to test out the clone.
