[Historical] 18th Anniversary of 9/11: When America trembled

On this day in History, 17th years ago, 19 Al-Qaeda militants hijacked four commercial planes. Two of the planes hit the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, located in Manhattan, New York. A third plane hit the Pentagon and a fourth plane, presumably heading against the White House, hit the ground around Shanksville, Pennsylvania, thanks to reported passenger-uprising.

Around 3000 people, of up to 70 different nationalities, died in these attacks. The September 11 attacks rendered huge economic loss in Stock Exchange market, that closed for the rest of the week, and led to a huge crash in Airline and Insurance sectors. It economically harmed the Manhattan area, with the loss of office-buildings.

The September 11 might be one of the most significant events of the beginning our century, having led to the so-called War on Terror, that culminated in the Invasion of Afghanistan, the Iraq War and the stiff-up attitude towards countries like Iran and North Korea and can also be connected to the ever-growing intervention of the US and the western world in the Middle East, further destabilizing the region, to some extent.

This particular historical event still causes ramifications today, having originated an over-interventionism by the US and its western allies, destabilizing and polarizing the Middle East up to this day.

It was the starting event-point for the though up of anti-terrorism laws and regulations.

(Honestly, the Arab Spring would have never happened with the magnitude it had, had it not been due to the actions of the US & NATO in Libya for instance, as Khadafi was perceived as a terror-supporter, which he was, with the Lockerbie attack..)

It was the deadliest terrorist incident (so far).

I've read articles on the mistakes that happened in Yemen. Intelligence told the opposing side that specific thing was what they were looking for and simply in the end, had mistaken it for something else. In the end, it's war. The People of the earth, are free to do as they wish. They can migrate to other places. Everyone on this planet knows, if you're in the middle of a war, you have a chance of being killed even if you're not involved. The Yemeni situation, proved that to be correct. Even if the opposing side meant it or not. Same goes for the Iraqi civilians. Fighting a war is hard and confusing. I have met many soldiers who fought in Iraq. Some said they went searching house to house, looking for people that needed to be killed. Sometimes, they got the wrong person who looked like them or got the wrong information. The US doesn't intentionally kill innocents. There are reasons behind it.

Syrian Troops were killed by a US-led coalition, not the US. The US does not have total control over any country, so they could carry out their own strikes if they very well wanted to.

America invaded Iraq in 1990 because they invaded Kuwait. They defended Kuwait. The Sanctions were to get Iraq to leave Kuwait originally, and grew into to pay Reparations and to get rid of weapons of mass destruction via economic downfall.

The US also meddled in Afghanistan during the civil war (which I'm assuming you're talking about Operation Cyclone, which was during the USSR Military Intervention of the country) because it was backing the side against it's greatest enemy, the USSR.

And the bombing of Libya in 1987 was in retaliation of the West Berlin discotheque bombing which killed US Military Personnel.

The only thing that accuses the US of kidnapping Moro, was a claim on a book. A simple claim. Nothing else (from what I can find)

As for for Congolese Prime Minister Killing, it has been proven there a possibility of the CIA conspiring to kill him, but it's a possibility. Other countries too have looked into this, and could not find a direct link. Though the PM was thought to be a potential communist by the US and went to the USSR for aid, it was potential.

for South Korean's killing Pro Communists and Pro North Koreans, I have searched and cannot find anything on it. Maybe you can give me an article. Though I can tell you it's illegal to support North Korea in South Korea. Same thing for Bodo.
