First of all, some of you guys may have realised there was no #5 yesterday, and for that I apologise. I've been really busy due to some work happening in my house. I was also mad about the hdrakon situation so didn't really pay attention to atWar for a while, but that changes today. I've returned to atWar and pledge to be as active as I can. Second, I'm going to be adding a new feature to The atWar Press (with approval of our wonderful admin, Ivan) of weekly competitions and Player of The Week. However, I need some feedback from the community in order to perform these tasks as fairly as possible. Please tell me the best method you would like when picking Player of The Week, and a suitable reward for them (would you prefer a special badge, or protocoins, or perhaps both?). Please also suggest me what type of weekly competitions you would like to see on The atWar Press. I'm welcoming all suggestions. Thank you in advance to those helping making The atWar Press improve, and expect to see issue #5 this Sunday!

I don't think there should be any one way to decide player of the week. Just whoever stands out the most, whether it be in-game performance or community contributions. They should also have a citation for why they were chosen and get to write a paragraph about themselves. A reward is not necessary imo.

Nero is always player of the week. No need to pick anything.

I'm not sure enough things are acomplished in a single week in order to choose a player of the week... just take a look at all the difficulties there were with choosing a player of the season. Anyhow, if someone were to pick these players, who would it be? Popular vote seems the only method tried before.

That sounds like a great idea. The only problem now is how to select one, and based on what requirements?

Based on their contribution to the "questions" thread..theres a lot of questions only those who helped answered it correctly should get recognition & also game strategy & tips. Thats my opinion.

Hmm I have a of couple suggestions but almost one of them has their own con's but ill card them down: 1. Community With community I mean the community should suggest one, make a top 5/10 (what ever is the best) and make a poll and let them pick out of those. Based on requirements such as, contributions, activity, (this is the hard part, because what makes someone different from the others). Like Kimjim suggested above, maybe contributions at helpchat/question thread/who came with solutions in threads/etc. Con's: As all of us may guessed the con's, but letting the community pick it will turn as soon as possible into a farming for votes (like reps/upvotes) and become a friendlypolitics, which will ruin the point of this. 2. Moderators/admins With this system we kind of take the same systems as before and how mods are getting qualified for becoming a mod. It could become fair but also could have the same con's as mentioned above. Con's: Could also become a friendllypolitics, like some moderators like that person and pick him to qualify for PoTM (while maybe he didnt do as much as the others). 3. Tournaments The thing about this whole topic is, it will give another touch to AtWar, but it would also end up like the older PoTM things and any other thing that needs votes from the community (which most likely wont be objective). With tournaments I mean, a kind of yearly thing whole atwar can enter, a good team (mods/admins/supporters (maybe another group) that is organized and plans a kind of monthly or weekly (olympic Atwar plays, once a year). Everybody can enter this, like all kinds of differnt games (3v3's scenarios/ rp's/ worldgames/ clanwars/ teamgames). With ofcourse finals with the result of those having some winners or closely winners who can be mentioned as PoTY or qualify as PoTY etc. Maybe also if its not to much asked with a prize. Con's: It can easily fail, because of to much people entering, people not active enough to complete their games, people leaving clans during the tournaments etc. Pro's: You will meet new people, you will get out of your comfy zone, like if you ara 3v3 players, you get to play scenarios, worldgames etc, same goes the other way around. It will make AW enjoyable for a good week or month. You will gain alot of new skills and experience. The point of PoTM is fun but I think it will become almost impossible, like I explained above, to make it objective and the requirements are also impossible to realize. which is why i suggest the last point (tournaments), it sounds all like impossible but it could be possible if we have a good dedicated team to make this come true ofc. Alot of big games have tournaments like this (we would need ofcourse more joinable spots like 35 or 40 in a game). Let me know what you think about it
